So many of us today are struggling with this idea that events are moving beyond our control and we fear what tomorrow might look like. Perhaps it is a feeling we have of being a small person in a big world run by powerful people who will crush us if we refuse to comply with their wishes. Whatever the reason might be, there is a feeling of power held by those people who have risen to the top of our social structure that is exerting certain ideas that are categorically harmful to the average person.
What most of us don’t realize is that these people only have the power to control us if we let them. I have said many times in the past that a small percentage of people will always gain control over a disproportionately large part of the power and wealth and prestige because there is only so much to go around and the ambitious will always put in more effort than those who aren’t. Some people will always have more than others, but that doesn’t mean they are immune to being overcome.
The reality is that while some people might have access to ridiculous amounts of power when our society is moving along “normally”, in the end that power is completely insubstantial. It relies on society choosing to accept that power over them, bending our own will to accept what those people are trying to do. When most of us agree with the decisions being made by those who have acquired a measure of power, it reinforces that authority and provides a firm seat of leadership for those with the ambition to rise to the top.
History has shown us, however, that this power only lasts as long as the general public is willing to put up with the demands of these people. The United States was formed from the people deciding they couldn’t live under the oppressive yoke of an authoritarian regime that cared nothing for the welfare of the people and only existed to serve their own selfish desires. Our lineage is defined by a rebellious nature that refuses to conform to ideologies that are dissonant from what we were raised to believe. This is exactly why the people in power are going to such great lengths to import as many people as possible into our country to dilute our independent spirit.
What our “leaders” have failed to learn from history is that when you poke the bear, it eventually gets tired of it and mauls you. America was called a “sleeping giant” by Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto during World War 2, and that phrase still applies today. Our nation is filled with hundreds of millions of people, far outnumbering the small percentage of people whom we have deemed “powerful” because they have learned to manipulate our system in a way that gives them the ability to make decisions for others.
The problem for them is that their decisions only matter if enough of us accept them. We outnumber them millions to one, and the only hope they have of exerting enough control over us to keep control over us is if they can convince our military to play long. Having served as a Marine myself, I can’t imagine that enough of our service members would follow such orders to suppress everyone into submission. The fighting spirit of those who volunteer to protect our nation simply will not submit to people who are clearly corrupt.
This is why technologies such as drones and other forms of automated military assets are so important to our government. It removes the human moral equation, placing control of death dealing in the hands of a small group of people who can be coerced into using force against the public at large. It is a scary thought that keeps a lot of people up at night, but it ultimately doesn’t matter. With such overwhelming odds, once the people are provoked to the point of rebellion the government will have no chance.
The thing that gives me hope is that the ultra-progressive ideologues have played their hand far too soon, and enough of us have woken up to the radical agendas they believe in to take a second look at start pointing out their lunacy to the rest of the population who has been asleep for so long. The giant is starting to wake up, roused in anger because we can’t stand the oppressive ideas being crammed down our throats by people who have become convinced of their own superiority and power. They fail to realize it can be snatched away in a moment.
As a small blogger, I certainly don’t have enough influence to make a call to action, but perhaps this idea can join other voices to help permeate the American consciousness so that we don’t feel so powerless. Always remember that you are a citizen of a nation of hundreds of millions of people who share most of the same values you hold dear. We might disagree on certain methods, but we are all Americans and we all believe in what our country is supposed to be. Once enough of us remember that, it will be short work to excise the poison that is our supposed “political elite”.
